Skin Types: Normal or Combination Skin

Many men and women of different ages have combination skin. Combination skin is what dermatologists term skin types that are sometimes oily, sometimes dry, or both at the same time. For people with combination skin, acne may even occur naturally on occasion, or when using the wrong products. (See Skin Types - Acne for more detail).

Factors causing combination skin, may be environmental changes such as humidity or cool weather and wind. Genetic factors inherited from your parents may be the source of dryness and oiliness as well. Hormones also play a significant role in altering the texture of your skin. It is important to use the proper products on your skin to achieve the "balance" needed to rectify combination problems.

Although normal skin almost never fluctuates between oily and dry, both normal and combination skin are treated somewhat similar.
